Two children were successfully brought back from the temporarily occupied territory

As part of the initiative of the President of Ukraine, Bring Kids Back UA, through the joint efforts of the team at Helping to Leave, Yurii* and Ilona* were successfully returned to government-controlled territory of Ukraine.

Yurii is from the Kherson region. This summer, the boy received his secondary education certificate and decided to leave the temporarily occupied territory in order to continue his education in Ukraine.

He reached out to Helping to Leave for assistance. The team helped arrange his route and found a foster family for him in Volyn region, which will provide the necessary support and help him with his education and obtaining the required documents.

Today, Yurii is already on government-controlled territory of Ukraine. He plans to continue his education and train as a welder.

Ilona is from Donetsk region. There, she completed nine years of school and enrolled in a college, but was unable to complete her studies after being taken to Russia.

Later, the girl decided to return to Ukraine and contacted Helping to Leave for assistance.

With the assistance of the Coordination Headquarters, Ilona obtained a certificate for return to Ukraine and was able to successfully leave Russia.

The girl is now on government-controlled territory of Ukraine and lives in Kyiv with her boyfriend.

The young people now face a period of adaptation, with opportunities to continue their education and build their own futures at home.
