On October 1, 2024, the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children held its third plenary meeting, reaffirming the global community's commitment to addressing the issue of the unlawful deportation and forced displacement of Ukrainian children by Russia. The event was co-chaired by Ukraine and Canada and focused on the Coalition’s achievements, ongoing projects, and the path forward in the mission to return every Ukrainian child to their homeland.
The event was opened by Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, who emphasized the Coalition's crucial role within the framework of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Peace Formula. "Today marks 6 months of the Coalition's work within the Peace Formula framework. We can now talk about results, not just goals," Yermak stated.
Thus, countries highlighted specific contributions and projects in support of Ukraine's efforts to return and rehabilitate abducted children.
Additionally, Jocelyn Kinnear, Executive Director of the Ukraine Bureau at Global Affairs Canada, reinforced Canada's unwavering commitment to supporting Ukraine in this mission, emphasizing the importance of international collaboration.
