Since the start of the full-scale invasion, thousands of Ukrainian children have been deported or forcibly transferred by Russia. These children have been torn from their homes, placed in Russian families, forced to abandon their language and culture, and even enrolled in military organizations. Their chances of returning home fade with each day.
These forced transfersnot only breach moral standards but also constitute a violation of international law, including the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Geneva Conventions and the Rome Statute.e. They are war war crimes, crimes against humanity, and gross violations of children's rights to identity and family reunification.
